Noa
Noa
Nøå is the musical incarnation of Noah Gilfillan's mind, heart, and spirit. It is more of a state of mind, a feeling, a moment, than it is the intentions of Noah himself.

Nøå began seriously recording and producing music in 2010, enrolling in audio engineering school in Minneapolis and performing at local venues. It was there Noah stumbled upon music concrete and dove into a fusion of songwriting that combined prominent melodies, noise and ambience, and driving polyrhythms within pop-like structures. The songs themselves are not creations, but rather discoveries. The employment of field recordings and samples alongside the voice and live instrumentation leaves the listener with a distinct sense of movement, space, and connection to life in Wisconsin.

Nøå newest release, I Was Sleeping, I Just Woke Up... Robots Coming!, will be digitally released by newly founded label Vesten Kollekive, run by fellow musician/artist duo Hendrix Gullison and Aedric Donovan. Drawing on inspiration from Cat Stevens and other musicians that offer soulful advice on how to get through life's challenges, the new album serves as reflection on simple principles and mantras that help along life's journeys. It also offers perspective on the settings we find ourselves in when these little values make themselves visible. Most of all, its about making cool sounds and enjoying all the small things along the way.
