Anna Wang
Anna Wang
Anna Wang is a songwriter based in Madison, WI, and is one half of Tortoise and the Finch, the 2017 winners of 105.5 Triple M's Project M songwriting competition. Forced into classical piano lessons as a child, she "rebelled" by writing pop songs.

A couple of years ago, Anna began turning her spare bedroom (affectionately called "The Blue Room") into a project studio in an attempt to gain greater control over her music sonically. In Your Head is a collection of pop songs created in the Blue Room over the past couple of years. The album will be available digitally on November 3 via iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music, and more.

Woodrow
Connor Falcon Brennan has been writing original music his whole life but had been pursuing a PhD in Medical Physics until 2016. His love for music swayed him to leave the PhD program at University of Wisconsin, and pursue music full-time. That is when Connor assembled three other local Madison musicians to form the band Woodrow. Marc Brousseau (guitar) is a high-school math teacher, a self taught guitar player, and has previously recorded with a handful of bands from the Rhode Island music scene, where he is originally from. Connor Peterson (drummer) was recruited directly from two expert drumlines: The Tundra Line, the official drumline of the Green Bay Packers, and The University of Wisconsin Drumline. Nate Klopotic (bass) is multi-instumentalist, able to play the guitar, piano, sax, mandolin, and ukelele; his main instruments now are playing the flugelhorn for the University of Wisconsin Marching Band, and the bass for Woodrow.

During Woodrow's first six months, the band released their debut EP, Jose, which is described as "palpable creative energy . . . [and] a total disregard for convention" by Emmie Music Magazine. After recording the EP, the band recruited a fifth member, Kevin Gale, to round out the Indie Pop Sound. Woodrow is currently playing gigs around WI, and recording their second EP, with plans to record their first full album in early 2018.
Genevieve Heyward
Genevieve Heyward
At a time in her life when most of her peers are worried about prom and parties and fraught with teenage anxieties, Genevieve Heyward is pushing toward her future. Barely old enough to drive a car, Genevieve has nonetheless managed to garner the acclaim and experience of a performer a decade her senior. She’s opened for Grammy winners, and shared the stage with national touring acts and performers who have written songs for some of the biggest names in music. A fixture of local café open mics, Genevieve cut her teeth performing on her way to winning multiple talent shows and vocal competitions, playing in front of both small handfuls and crowds of thousands.

Adept at both guitar and piano, Genevieve writes the songs she sings, songs firmly rooted in the contemporary, with faint hints of tendrils running deep toward the influence of old footsteps. She’s as comfortable with Tin Pan Alley as she is today’s teen pop, and tells you with a voice built to bewilder – equal parts soft and smoky, and smooth as fresh Wisconsin butter. It’s a warm and natural sound, absent of pretension and imbued with an honesty that affirms the beneficent nature of her music. Genevieve said it best herself – “I want to play music because people seem to like it, and that makes me happy.”
