BLUE RIBBON TUESDAYS w/ Drew Mantia Band, The Bronzed Chorus, Angie Mattson, General B and the Wiz
☆ Opening act(s): Drew Mantia Band (11), The Bronzed Chorus (10), Angie Mattson (9), General B and the Wiz (8)
Drew Mantia Band (11) Rock/Soul
http://www.drewmantia.com/
Looking to expand on the sound of his debut album, "Save Yourself," Drew Mantia has introduced influences like John Mayer and Maroon 5 to electronic elements and irresistible grooves on his second release, "Some Assembly Required" (released 6/1/10). This mix of organic pop rock and R&B with futuristic sounds looks to secure Drew Mantia a special niche in the pop rock world. The successes of "Save Yourself," such as being invited to perform at Six Flags Mid-America theme park, a TV feature on the St. Louis Fox affiliate, and opening performances for national acts the Flobots and Slightly Stoopid, pave the way for the Drew Mantia Band to spread the sounds of "Some Assembly Required" in 2010.
The Bronzed Chorus (10) Experimental/Post Rock

The Greensboro, N.C.'s The Bronzed Chorus packs the sound of a post rock four piece into a duo. Rumbling drums with simultaneous synth bottom end. Chiming stereo guitar that send swirls of rhythmic patterns across the room. All this action while making a sound that is distinctly their own. Two guys proving that, yes, less is more.
Angie Mattson (9) Alternative/Americana

From a thunderous melodic chant to a gritty rockabilly strut, Angie Mattson's new album Skeleton Arm is cool and sophisticated with a wild and tender heart. Mattson grew up in an industrial town on Lake Michigan, before one day deciding to skip town for warmer temperatures. She taught herself to play guitar on a sailboat bound for South America. Since then her songs have been on FOX, ABC, LOGO and IFC and she has toured nationally and opened for the likes of Suzanne Vega, Uh Huh Her, Shawn Mullins, and more. Her new LP Skeleton Arm was just released and a fall tour will follow. Angie currently resides in the Highland Park area of Los Angeles.
General B and the Wiz (8) Rock
http://www.myspace.com/generalbandthewiz
General B and the Wiz is a new rock band based out of Luther College in Decorah, IA. Though they come from the middle of nowhere, said hermitage has given them just the time they need to hone their awesomeness. Rocking guitars and a pretty dang funky rhythm section could be just what you need to get your night going. You'll like them. They promise. Also, their picture is blurry, but they're pretty dang cute. Check them out.
