Once you are booked at The Frequency
Here's what you can do to help make your show a successful one.
.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) the following:
- A clear band photo in JPG or PNG format. It must be 400 pixels wide (no wider, please!).
- A short band bio
- Links to some of your music. Direct links are preferred, i.e., http://yourband.com/music/our-song.mp3
You need to contact local press and radio 2 weeks prior to your event; a convenient list is provided in the sidebar. If you have any suggestions please send them our way, especially if we're missing outlets that you'd normally use. Send posters to the club at least 2 weeks ahead of your scheduled date, we do put them up here and other places as well.
* IMPORTANT! IF YOU WANT TO BE FEATURED ON OUR WEBSITE YOU NEED TO SUBMIT THE MATERIALS REQUESTED ABOVE. WE WILL NOT CHASE DOWN YOUR BAND BIO AND PICTURE. IF YOU ARE NOT LISTED ON OUR WEBSITE IT IS BECAUSE YOU HAVE NOT SUBMITTED THESE MATERIALS!
We do our own in-house promotion but we also depend on the band or promoter to do some of the work as well.
You are responsible for your own flyers!
Send posters to:
The Frequency
Attn: Darwin
121 W. Main St
Madison, WI 53703
If you are extremely poor send us a high resolution digital file and we will do our best to get some flyers around town for you.
We also suggest registering with local websites and forums and dropping the word in those places. The Isthmus' Daily Page Forum is a great example of a place to promote your gig. Use the Hype Exchange section.
FAQ
CAN WE DO AN 18 + SHOW?
We hold both 18+ and 21+ shows. Recently The Frequency was granted a license to run 18 + shows. The Frequency will work with the artists and give them the option to run 18+ or 21+.
What time do we load in?
Load in is at 7pm. For happy hour shows, load in will be 1 hour prior to show time. You need to be here one hour prior to doors regardless of which day you are playing or what set time you have.
Where do we park?
Onstreet parking is available, metered until 6 PM. There is a ramp across the street, they charge 24 hrs a day.
Do we get free drinks or food?
The Frequency offers 2 free drinks per performer. Food is not provided, we do have Emil's Pizza at employee pricing. If you're from a different continent we will probably za you up.
Will we get paid?
Yes. Details will be provided upon confirmation of your show.
Do we have to pay for sound?
All nights have an $80 sound charge. This is taken from the door.

We do not provide accomodations for bands. Find a fan or look up one of the many fine motels in our area. Best Western Inn on the Park is located across the street and gives a performer's discount.

We suggest 1 per band member.
